Tried and proven in WA’s demanding mining sector, Fuwa K-Hitch has become a renowned force in Australia’s commercial road transport industry. Building on that success, the young brand is constantly expanding around the country.

The key to success – according to National Sales Manager, Chris Barrett – is a combination of premium service and a gapless portfolio that can cater to any requirement. That’s why Fuwa K-Hitch has developed a wide range of fifth wheels to suit almost any freight task imaginable, whether it be metropolitan, country or even the toughest mining application – including a 12 or 24 month (depending on the model) structural guarantee on each product.

The brand’s current offering not only includes mining application and heavy-duty fifth wheels, but also adjustable jaw fifth wheels and fabricated, pressed top fifth wheels, such as the Highway Master range.

Rated to 174kN D value, the Highway Master series has been designed for on-highway line haul applications and is particularly successful along the eastern seaboard. It can boast steel or polyethylene (greaseless version) inserts that can be easily replaced if need be, and is available in 50 mm king pin size and variable mount heights. The Highway Master range suits single or B-double trailers and features ISO standard feet with bolt or weld-on capabilities – all complying with Australian Standard AS1773-1996.

The Fleet Master product, meanwhile, is an adjustable jaw fifth wheel that provides a tight lock regardless of kingpin wear, thus reducing overall maintenance and the frequency of jaw replacement. “It has been designed to suit Australia’s harsh environment, including the strain of working in the outback on and off road,” says Chris. Available in 50 mm and 90 mm jaws, various mounting heights and in a greaseless version, it is suitable for use in single, B-double, double and triple road trains as well as volume loading applications.

“As a leading force in the fifth wheel segment, we are committed to providing the marketplace with quality products that are designed to go the distance in Australia’s unique operating landscape,” Chris says, adding that Fuwa will also help customise the product if necessary.

“We want to provide a product that helps our clientele maintain a flawless corporate identity. That’s why all our fifth wheels are available in both black or red enamel as standard – and if you require a specific colour, this can be arranged as well.

“We take an extreme amount of pride in every product carrying the Fuwa K-Hitch logo,” Chris concludes. “And we want every client to experience that commitment first hand when fitting one of our products. That’s what Fuwa-K-Hitch is all about.”
