A long-term partnership with Fuwa K Hitch has complemented Midland Industries’ ability to provide its customers with high-quality turnkey solutions.

Midland Industries’ success as a trailer builder has always come down to listening to its customers and then crafting a custom solution based on their requirements. That is why the business acted swiftly when demand for Fuwa K Hitch components grew.

Established in 2007 with origins dating back to 1996, Midland is a proud Australian-owned and operated business specialising in the manufacturing of open top trailers. Rather than focusing just on production output, it designs and engineers its trailers to match the direct needs of each buyer – utilising Australian sourced steel and components, gradually refined processes and reliable suppliers that have been strategically selected to complement its product portfolio.

Thus, Midland has aligned itself with Fuwa K Hitch for the supply of its axles and running gear for just about the entirety of its existence.

“Fuwa K-Hitch is our preferred supplier, and it’s the brand our customers ask for the most,” says Midland Head of Design and Engineering, Steve Radanov. “The market asks for Fuwa K-Hitch and our own experience lines up with it, so when your customers and your production team want the same product, the decision makes itself.”

Midland predominantly uses Fuwa K Hitch axles with Weweler air suspension, as well as landing legs and greased/greaseless fifth wheels depending on the application. According to Steve, running one preferred brand at scale has allowed Midland to develop engineering and installation standards that are tuned specifically to how it builds.

“That consistency is hard to put a dollar figure on, but it’s real,” he says. “When demand and supply preference line up, the numbers tend to follow.”

Midland and Fuwa K Hitch have crafted a very tight-knit relationship in a partnership which now approaches a total of 30 years. This has not only delivered advantages on the operational side of Midland’s business, but it has significantly improved processes on the production line as well.

“Ease of installation is the standout advantage of using Fuwa K Hitch,” Steve explains. “When a product goes on cleanly and consistently, you see it in your throughput because the efficiency gains add up across a production run.

“They also punch well above their weight relative to price. Their axles and components provide extremely high performance without the premium price tag you’d expect at that level.”

Steve says the feedback Midland has received from customers attests to this.

“Fuwa K Hitch is a renowned product that is commonly used across Australia, so it’s not hard to sell to anyone,” he says. “Our customers think the product is great and they don’t have any issues with them.

“Fuwa K Hitch’s service and parts supply are also really good, and that’s why a lot of people use them in Australia – because they are supported.”

Fitting Fuwa K Hitch components as standard gives Midland an entry-level offering for most clients. Bolstering the dependable product is also an exceptional engineering team at the ready that is gifted with years of experience and knowledge.

“Fuwa K Hitch are very accessible,” Steve says. “Working with them is very straightforward. Our local sales representative is always reachable, and that matters more than it sounds.

“The team at Fuwa K Hitch provide us with fabrication recommendations, best-practice guidance and fit-out advice. They’re always willing to come out to either of our facilities and they get involved early, so the relationship goes well beyond ordering parts.”
